This recipe serves 4, but it's easily adaptable for more or less people.

Total cooking time: 20 minutes

What you need

4 x 100g pork sirloin steaks

The sauce

4 tbsp shop-bought apple puree
3 tbsp ginger ale
1 tbsp clear honey
1.25 cm (1/2”) root ginger, peeled and grated
Grated zest of 1 orange
Juice of 2 oranges

To serve

Boiled new potatoes
Green salad

How it's done
  1. Place all the ingredients for the sauce in a saucepan. Bring to the boil and simmer uncovered until the sauce thickens slightly. You could add a bit of cornflour mixed with water if you feel it needs to be thicker.

  2. Cook the pork sirloin steaks under a preheated grill for approximately 6-8 minutes each side.

  3. Pour the warm sauce over the steaks.

  4. Serve with boiled new potatoes and a green salad.
